Description[?]:
The Union of Leftist Thinkers is a civil libertarian party that supports absolute civil rights for all citizens. This means that the ULT is against any government interaction into the personal lives of the people. What you do in the bedroom is up to you, what you put into your body is your choice, and what type of firearm you think you need to own is for you to decide. The Union of Leftist Thinkers believes that so long as what you are doing is not interfering with the rights of anyone else, there is no reason for government interference. In economic matters, the ULT is firmly left-wing. We believe that as a mechanism for facilitating interpersonal transactions, the market works well. However, as an overall economic system, capitalism has flaws that must be addressed in order for a good society to function correctly. The ULT agrees that the goal of a good society should be equality of opportunity. However, we believe that equality of oportunity means more than simply the absense of direct oppression. We believe that in order for citizens to truly be equal in their capacity to realize their true potential, they must have full and equal access to a quality education, quality health care, and adequate food and shelter at all times. We also believe that citizens who are unable to work should suffer no loss in quality of life. This includes the elderly and the disabled. Only with these goals realized can a society truely claim to have equality of opportunity. Thus a good society should put in place an economic system in which these aims can be accomplished. |
