Description[?]:
The Militant Alliance of the Left was formed in the early 23rd century by a wide-reaching group of primarily left-wing individuals who wished to make thier voice heard in Rutanian politics. The group contained everyone from hardcore communists to moderate liberals. The original motive was only to excercise a small amount of power in the parliament, more power would be excercised by protests and campaigning (hence the "Militant" moniker). The party enterest its first election without any form of identity, and as a result got very few votes. However, after expressing opinions on issues such as civil liberties and religion, the party struck a chord with the Rutanian electorate, becoming the largest party in Rutania, and has continued to grow ever since. Breaking away from it's original agenda, the MAL is now the largest party in Rutania, and is part of a mostly-successful coalition with the Libertarian Alcoholic Party II. This unlikely partnership has led to the people of Rutania being among the most free in Terra. The party is now less committed to state-ownership and other extreme traits. The party is now involved in creating a Rutania where the people are free, as is the majority of the market, but the government acts to protect the people from the effects of capitalism. -Marshall Stack, President of Rutania and founder/leader of the Militant Alliance of the Left. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
Random quote: "Today's political campaigns function as collection agencies for broadcasters. You simply transfer money from contributors to television stations." - Bill Bradley |
