Description[?]:
The Liberal Party was formed in 4547 as a movement to unite Luthori politically. For too long, the same two parties have formed the same old coalitions - there has not been the political pragmatism seen in other democratic nations. We intend to establish a new consensus for a hurting nation, in need of recovery. Party Policy Platform: Call a National Commission to strategise efforts to combat climate change. Abolish university tuition fees. Introduce a government initiative to encourage more people to enter teaching. Restore a partially publicly-owned defence industry. Limit Luthori intelligence activities to counter-terrorism and surveillance. Prohibit the use of land mines, biological weapons and chemical weapons by the military. Abolish national service. Introduce a Human Rights Bill, detailing the rights of Luthori civilians, rights for prisoners, complying with international civil rights convention. Allow abortion through the first and second trimester, with abortion being permitted throughout the entire pregnancy only in medical emergencies. Provide free contraceptives in pharmacies and public toilets. Legalise euthanasia. Introduce food safety guidelines that can be enforced by government agencies. Legalise gender reassignment surgery. Enforce health and safety regulation on industry. Deregulate IVF. Introduce some government-funded sports clubs alongside private clubs. Regulate energy charges by private companies. Introduce a Value Added Tax on food and essential goods. Prohibit the firing of striking workers. Regulate mobile phone provider rates. Regulate the Stock Exchange. |

Random fact: The influence a bill has on elections decreases over time, until it eventually is no longer relevant. This can explain shifts in your party's position to the electorate and your visibility. |
Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller |
