The Neo-Whig Party is a quasi-conservative, left-of-center, progressive party. Neo-Whigs mostly concern themselves with Foreign Relations. Neo-Whigs approve of Rutania's involvement in the Terran community, but they do not want to lose their nation's sovereignty to a global government. The Neo-Whigs also approve of a smaller government that secures Rutanian civil liberties. The party was founded in 2429, by a group of concerned intellectuals led by lifelong friends Upton Thompson, Jimmy Jefferson, and Judah Grisham. In the pivotal 2435 election, the Neo-Whig Party achieved their first majority (35%). The Neo-Whig Party, along with its ever-growing popular support, look to make greater strides in protecting the freedoms of all Rutanians. |
