Members often describe themselves as "moderate conservatives". Members prioritise small-government and are sympathetic towards the private sector. Some are sceptical of issues such as abortion rights. • Moderates - politicians and members belonging to this faction can be placed in the centre of the political spectrum. Members often describe themselves as "liberals" or "democrats". They tend to side with the Progressive faction on social issues but often favour the Conservative faction when it comes to economic policy. About: The Environmentalist Party was founded in November 4142 by Vernon Bowman, Barbara Fowler and Kevin Rojas in the city of Dolores, Norwalk. Its guiding principles are Environmentalism and Green libertarianism, though the party claims to be "non-ideological" beyond the domain of environmental policy. In this regard, the founding members decided against the adoption of the name "Green Party" which is traditionally used by environmentalist parties. Instead, they opted for "Environmentalist Party" in the belief that it would appeal to more voters. It was felt that if the party was to be called the "Green Party" it would attract only middle-class and left-wing voters who already firmly supported environmental protection. The name "Environmentalist Party" was adopted instead to convince voters that it was not ideologically committed to left-leaning policies in areas such as the economy and social issues. In most policy areas the party has an organic party platform which is always open to change. The Enviromentalist Party can therefore be considered to be a 'catch-all' party - consisting of progressives, conservatives, socialists and capitalists alike - with the firm commitment to Environmentalism uniting its membership. |
