The New Baltusia Party was first founded as the People's Party of Baltusia in 4684, in 4685 the party reformed itself and renamed as the NBP. The party supports positions on various issues that put themselves on almost all sides of the political spectrum. Party Leadership: The party consists of various local parties that are run by a committee of delegates elected by members in each party district. These delegates, therefore, elect a national party leadership committee made up of fifteen delegates, 3 from each state, which together elects one of their own to be Chair of the Committee and the Party overall. Party Chairs -Isabella Riviera 4684-4687(Jan) -Nina Rollins 4687-Present Party Positions: * = Key Issue Economy: Supports a free-market agenda with limited regulation to ensure a competitive economy. It does not support mandatory union membership in any profession. *Education: Supports nationwide standards set for all educational schools public and private. Education is a high priority for the party and we feel it is too precious of an issue to throw to local governments, we need to ensure all children regardless of their local government in Baltusia have access to high-quality education. Believes private schools should be non-profit. Taxes & Budget: Supportive of lower taxes but will support a progressive income tax plan. Low business tax, and no sales tax. Supports a Balanced Budget Amendment. Religion: Supports a secular agenda when it comes to religion, the party sees no place for it in a functioning society. Civil Rights & Social Issues: Supports Abortion in cases of medical emergencies, does not support taxpayer funding. Supportive of same-sex marriages and benefits. Supports civil rights, and believes the public should be allowed to make most choices themselves. Small-Government leaning. *Technology: Very supportive of space exploration, increased medical research, renewable energy, military, etc. Believes partnerships between government and private sector on projects like these will accomplish success. Environment: Supports renewable energy, and lower reliance on oil and coal. Supports nuclear energy. Will be more supportive of laws beneficial to the economy over the environment. Infrastructure: Believes the government should undertake vast projects to reform all public transportation with renewable energy within 25 years. Supportive of government and other public buildings being remodeled to high-efficient energy standards. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
