Bill: Foreign Policy Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Fascist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3562

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

While we thank the KDF for pointing out our grievous error we still demand that Dranland withdraw from the bulk of these useless and dead treaties. Tell me fellow parliamentarians, when was the last time we sent a delegate to the League of Terran Nations? When was the last Olympic games? When my friends and colleagues was the last time we actively participated in these treaties or the bodies they established did something?
It is naive and foolish to claim that we want to isolate Dranland. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We want new agreements that better reflect our current diplomatic needs. No sense in staying with dead treaties for the sake of it. Perhaps if the KDF wasn't busy kow towing to the Indralan emperor as he bestows various titles on them we would have a commonsense foreign policy reform!

MessageMr. Speaker,

For once, I find myself in agreement with Rupert Muroch about something. The KDF is not an independent Egelian organisation; it is a mere agent of the Indralan Emperor.

I have no intention of recalling and re-typing my comments for this near-copy bill.

MessageMr Speaker,

Sadly, this is the kind of legislative behaviour that leads many to be wary of the NFP. This is not responsible foreign policy, all these organisation help Dranland be a vibrant and active member on the international scene.

MessageMr Speaker,

I wholeheartedly oppose the notion that we are not running a responsible foreign policy. Perhaps the kind Rt Hon Myon can name the city where the last Olympics were held? Or perhaps he can give us the minutes of the last Anti Slavery League meeting? Or maybe an update from Interpol or the Missile Shield Defense is in order?
The facts speak for themselves. These treaties are worthless, dead and need to be removed so we can craft new treaties to better suit our current diplomatic needs.
