Nation[?]: República Gaduridana (Gaduridos)
Seats[?] in Congreso Nacional de la República de Gaduridos (National Congress of the Republic of Gaduridos)[?]: 0
Color[?]:
Description[?]:
A center left party with a willingness to grant large amounts of civil rights to the citizens. The party's power has waned in recent years, but it's been the party with the most votes on all but one occasion. That occasion being the election of 2800. It's also been the largest party on all but two occasions, those being between 2800 and 2802 and between 2804 and 2806. The party was formed in 2799 as the Partido Democratico Social, and made an ill-advised attempt to unseat the Partidos de Los Agricultores in 2800. The failure to do so, only worked to strengthen its supporters, and the subsequent collapse of the Partidos de Los Agricultores launched the (renamed) Social Democratic Party to power and fame. However, it also gave its well known and (as every Gaduridan knows) much disliked rival, the Libertario Aliatu, which was formed shortly after the ruling party's collapse, a large chunk of seats as well, and in the next election they gained a slim (two seat) majority. The then named SDP regained power shortly thereafter, and pursued an aggressive agenda, which they only stopped after they lost the absolute majority in 2813 (more for lack of new proposal ideas than anything). They continue to work to make Gaduridos a better place for all inhabitants, as well as a respected entity worldwide The Party Leaders are Betty Wu (b. 2780) and Jack Brock (b. 2776). Due to their similar voting records, the PDS and the Partido Unionista (PU) are generally seen as working closely together on issues. However, there is no evidence that they're close in any way, except their political views In 2819, inspired by the Unionist Party's name change to Partido Unionista, The Social Democratic Party Changed it's name to the name they bore in the first election, the Partido Democratico Social. In 2821, The PDS lost the largest party honor for the third time in its history. Party leadership blamed the constant agreement among the left-wing parties, which spreads out the votes among them. TYheir evidence is tha fact that in the runoff election for HOS, they won 56% to 44% against the LA |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
