Description[?]:
Front Ubulungisa Forsocial was formed in 3986 in the wake of the fall of the Ibutho National Congress Party. Initially formed out of a coalition of communists, democratic socialists, and academics, FUF pledged to bring social and economic justice to Ibutho, dismantle the military that had taken over, and restore democratic governance to the country. After defeating the incumbent pro-democracy Iqembu Sokusebenzisana Yeningi in 3988, FUF led the country towards abolishing the monarchy, centralizing the government, and instituting social democracy. In a short time, FUF changed the face of Ibutho. In that same time, democracy and ideological forces guaranteed it was not to last. After being the only registered political party in Ibutho for two elections, the FUF was challenged by monarchists and nationalists from the right and defections from within itself to the hardline Yamakhomanisi Induna Yebutho. Suffering from voter fatigue and a desire for change, Front Ubulungisa Forsocial came in third in the 3997 special elections and its Presidential candidate Andile Cibane - the second President of the People's Republic - failed to make the runoff round. With his defeat, the more centrist and consensus-focused Cibane has resigned and internal forces led by former Health and Social Services Minister Jabulani Mbuyisa have taken over the party pledging to return it to its roots of Democratic Socialism and to work closely with Yamakhomanisi to continue its revolution.
