Cabinet to be evacuated from St. Vondinsburg

Likatonian Secret Service have put the nation on high alert for Nuclear War. The LSS have indicated to the government that a Nuclear strike from Lodamun could be iminent and a strategy has been put in place to protect the nation.

Under a recommendation by the head of the Intelligence Services, the Cabinet has been evacuted to a Military Command Bunker in Hukatai. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Howard Johnson has requested that every political party send two senior representatives to accompany the cabinet to the military bunker.

Likatonian anti-air defences throughout the country are on high-alert while all missile silos have been fully armed and are on standby.

The Emissary has already been evactuated to Western Likatonia.

This press message was released by the Government of the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica.

Likatonia Responds to Lodamun Genocide.

First Advocate Alec Reynolds said Lodamun’s actions in Rapula are “among the vile war-crimes committed against mankind. This mass genocide of Likatonians in Rapula will not go unpunished.”

James Turner has been authorised to use all force necessary to avenge Lodamuns despicable actions.

A major air and ground offensive has been launched to re-capture North-East Rapula.

The Likatonian air-offensive in Rapula has been ailing against a ferocious Lodamun air-force and anti-air defence.

Admiral George Cromwell has been leading the Axis Mundi, Sorbanika and Hukatai submarine fleets in the coast off Rapula. Likatonian Naval superiority has resulted in untold hits against Lodamun naval vessels. From the coast, major cruise missile attacks have continued on strategic Lodamun ground defences in North East Rapula.

James Turner went to the border region to address Likatonian troops. He said “This War is not over. We will fight them in every village, and every house and by God will we triumph.”

Hostilities have been further intensifying between Likatonia and Lodamun.

Announcement from the Government of the United Republics of Lodamun

This press message was released by the Government of the United Republics of Lodamun.

Following the destruction of Zaphograd the 1st army started operation Thunder Lightning with the aim of pushing the Likatonian armed forces out of Rapula.

After bombing the Likatonian positions for hours the main assault came. After some moderate fighting the 1st army managed to breakthrough the enemy lines and the Axis Mundi force was forced on the retreat.

Within days most of the Axis Mundi forces had been pushed over the boader exept for a small force that was still resisting north-western parts of Rapula.

The small Likatonian force in the area where severly outnumbered and running low on supplies, so a direct assault would easily pushed back the forces, but knowing that there was almost 2 million Likatonians here, and having the destruction of Zaphograd in his backhead, Lieutenant general James Withmore, commander of the 3th infantry corps decided to take revenge.

He asked every artillery unit, naval ship, and bomber aircraft who was in range to bomb the area. Both chemical, biological, and normal bombs where used.

The result was devestating. After bombing the arae nonstop for 72 hours the 3th corp moved into what was left of the area. The entire area had been transformed in a barren wasteland.

Before the attack there where estimated that there lived about 2.2 million Likatonians here. After the attack there where almost none. The civilian death toll is estimated to be over 1 million dead, and over 1 million more fleed across the boarder into Likatonia.

After driving the last parts of the Axis Mundi force out of north-western Rapula, General of the army Donald James said in a statement that the entire province of Rapula is once again controlled by Lodamun.

Likatonia Smashes Lodamun City of Zaphograd

The Lodamun counter attack pushed Likatonian forces back to the Zaphograd border. Lodamun special forces pushed into Zaphograd and hostile Lodamun civilians forced the Likatonian military to withdraw from the city.

At the Likatonian command council, in the Ministry for Defence, a press conference was due to be held, but the waiting press got all they needed to hear, by the furious Minister for Justice James Turner (previous Minister for Defence) who shouted at his Generals “YOU IDIOTS, WHY DID YOU RETREAT FROM THE EAST. I WANT TO BOMB ZAPHOGRAD BACK TO THE STONE AGE. BURN ZAPHOGRAD, I WANT A BIG CRATER WHERE ZAPHOGRAD USED TO BE AND I WANT IT NOW!”

Likatonian forces regrouped on the hills outside Zaphograd in Rapula, Lodamun. General Charles Burns had the Axis Mundi army surround the city and launched “Operation Zaphograd Thunder”.

Zaphograd was then hit with artillery, surface-to-surface missiles and mortars. From the sea, the Hukatai, Sorbanika and Axis Mundi submarine fleets launched cruise missile attacks on the city.

From the border, Scorpian Ballistic Missile sites, launched chemical and biological weapons on Zaphograd. SU-30 ground attack aircraft bombed the city.

More significantly, Likatonia whole fleet of TU-160 “Blackbird” heavy bombers were scrambled their base in Gokitan, Likatonia to launch a massive air strike on Zaphograd.

The major bombing offensive lasted for nearly 72 hours and reports are that Zaphograd has been reduced to complete rubble. Every person has fled the town. It is estimated that over one million Lodamun civilians were killed in the offensive.

Back a the delayed press conference, James Turner received an easy time from Likatonian journalists, mostly asking him about how great he is, what he has breakfast and what he likes to do in his spare time. “I don’t get spare time anymore,” laughed Mr Turner. Foreign journalists asked more serious questions about the justification for civilian deaths. James Turner replied “As far as I’m concerned the Lodamun [inset very bad word]’s can either resist or serve. And if they resist, they can die.” Mr Turner then had the journalist removed from his press conference. Asked about the Democratic Workers strike in Likatonia, James Turner hinted that he was frustrated with the First Advocate Alec Reynolds. “We all know Alec loves his country and likes to spend most of his time on internal matters. But I could solve this socialist dispute very easily, very quickly, with little effort. Then we can all get back to more important things, like fighting the war. When asked about Maldursian support for the strike, Mr Turner replied – “pathetic. What’s Maldursia? I’ve never heard of them. They’re nothing. And they should stay out of Likatonian affairs or else we’ll have them out.”

There is no building left standing in Zaphograd, the ruins are still burning.

The so-called Rapulan Crisis came about from the passage through Convocation of an Act with written intent of "colonising Rapula" - which is a bordering province of sovereign Lodamun.

Some 18 million workers from all different industries and services are striking. The transport system has been effectively shut down in much of Likatonia, and there are increasing food shortages as a result of workers blockading imports in docks across the Prefecture of Lukaron.

The GNLF, one of the two Parties in the right-wing coalition, suggested establishing internment camps for striking workers. The DWP seeks international help in publicising the growing unrest to the rest of Terra.

Announcement from the Government of the United Republics of Lodamun

This press message was released by the Government of the United Republics of Lodamun.

Following the offensive from the Likatonian armed forces into Rapula the newly formed 1st army under the command of the newly promted general of the army Donald James was forced to push back all the way into the territory of Golavia, before he was finally able to regroup his army after the Lodamun airforce has succesfully halted the enemy sufficently

After regrouping and reciving reinforcement in form the the 7th and 12th infantry division and the 4th tank battalion the 1st army managed to completly stopped the offensive. The Lodamun air force tried to retake air supperiority over eastern Rapula, launced operation Eagle.

At the same the 1st army group counter attacked, and with the use of heavy artillery bombardment and all the air support the airforce could afford to spare from operation Eagle broke through enemy lines and rapidly reconquered most of eastern Rapula before being bugged down by Likatonian and the counter attack was completly stopped just 17km east of Zaphograd

The Previous Minister for Defence, James Turner (Conservative Liberal Party) is now Minister for Justice. He says "I will deal with this strike good and proper". First Advocate Alec Reynolds has ordered the Minister for Justice to hold back from any actions concerning the strike, pending the outcome of discussions with the Democratic Workers' Party. Mr Reynolds said "I think we can resolve the dispute peacefully and I am being fair and frank with the DWP leaders. Our discussions so far have been very respectful." In the mean time, James Turner will be resuming his passion for Greater Likatonia, maintaining a hands on approach to the War with Lodamun. "When I'm done, there will be no more Lodamuns left in Rapula", said James Turner.

Likatonia invades Lodamun

Peace talks broke down today between Likatonian and Lodamun diplomats with resolution over the disputed territory of Rapula.

This evening the Axis Mundi force of Likatonian Military charged into Rapula, Lodamun, launching “Operation Rapula Liberation”.

Over 100,000 troops, heavily equipment with several tanks divisions, APC’s and backed up by heavy artillery and mortars, stormed far into the disputed territory destroying Lodamun defences in their way.

The Axis Mundi force was backed up in the air by SU-29 ground attack aircraft while MiG-29 “dog-fighters” slaughtered Lodamun interceptor jets.

The Axis Mundi force was aided from the border by long-range Scorpion Ballistic Missile launchers, which launched Chemical and Biological weapons on cities in Eastern Rapula, Lodamun. Thousands of Cruise Missiles were fired from Likatonian Typhoon Class submarines off the coast of Rapula, destroying strategic Lodamun defences.

Likatonian Minister for Defence said “The operation has been a huge success so far, our forces have literally walked into Rapula and are continuing to push forwards.”

Likatonian military casualties are minimal. Lodamun military casualties have to be confirmed by the Lodamun Ministry for Defence. Civilian casualties are high and untold destruction has so far taken place on Lodamun infrastructure in Rapula.

Latest reports suggest that Likatonian forces are well into Eastern Rapula, Lodamun and are encountering strong resistance near the Rapula/Golavia border in Lodamun.
