Announcement from the Government of the United Tribes of Tukarali

This press message was released by the Government of the United Tribes of Tukarali.

--NEWSFLASH--

The Democratic Socialist Party has announced that it will be stepping down from the political stage in Tukarali. Despite still retaining most of the country's ministries, the party and its allies lost overall majority and Head of State power in the last election.

"It is a deep tragedy in the state of Tukarali," party leader Susan Reeve told reporters. "Although the DSP has for years been one of the most powerful parties in the nation, the sheer number of right-wing parties, outnumbering the left by almost three-to-one, has made progress impossible. It is therefore with a saddened heart that I make this announcement: the party is withdrawing from politics."

Reeve's statement was met with deep shock from the crowd at the party's annual conference, with an attendance of some 18,000 delegates. She continued, "Make no mistake - the DSP is far from dead. We have not abandoned our citizens. But we will instead fund co-operatives, trade unions and activist groups from abroad. The corruption of the rogue government will be destroyed by the power of the workers. Long live Tukarali!"

Since the announcement, the party has made no further comment, other than a brief statement by Head of Government Robert Bradshaw to endorse the Social Dynamist Party. This development will surely rock the politics of the region for years to come.

- Maria Siu, TBC News

Signed,
the Government of the United Tribes of Tukarali

Announcement from the Government of the Republic of Likatonia

This press message was released by the Government of the Republic of Likatonia.

The Republic of Likatonia officially denounces the undemocratic tyranny of the Socialist Commonwealth of New Endralon.

Their banning of the only real opposition to their communist government has disenfranchised a large minority of their nation's citizens.

Before this, the communist majority issued instructions on when and how to vote on bills.

This Stalinist oppression of the people of Kizenia must be ended. We stand in solidarity with the Kizenia Restoration Front.

Signed,
the Government of the Republic of Likatonia

New Year's Day 2092 Celebrations

An eventful year has come to an end. Looking back, we see that many people have reason to consider themselves fortunate - while many others can rightfully say that chance has not been on their side. The same is true of countries: we've seen good times and bad across the world. But, as we pass into the year 2092, the whole world is united in hope for the future. Will the new year be as good as the last? Or as bad? Or will our fortunes change? Those questions remain open, but this year, as always, their answers will often depend on the actions of our politicians and leaders.
