Hello, the fact of the matter is that third world poverty exists b/c developed nations give WELFARE via "farm subsidies" to INEFFICENT domestic farmers. As Adam Smith articulated in this brillant masterpiece, "The Wealth of Nations," we should buy agriculture from nations that have a comparative advantage in agriculture like 3rd World countries and they should likewise buy from us where we have a comparative advantage.

Here's a solution: let's negotiate an international treaty with 3rd World contries agreeing to outlaw ALL farm welfare (subsidies) to INEFFICIENT domestic farmers, and they agree to import our biotechnology (GM foods) as a service so they can produce more agriculture commodites. In this case, the world is happy.

News Report

Citizens of Luthori were horrified as news came through of a shooting spree in a small school in the Presbytery of Yodukan. Theresa Martin, a frustrated student fed up with school work, entered the school this yesterday morning armed with a gun and began shooting students and teachers indiscriminately. After killing 11 people and wounding 19 more, Theresa Martin committed suicide before being arrest by law enforcement. Former teacher Eric Roberts told reporters how the community was still in a state of shock and how this tragedy would haunt Luthori for years to come. Holy Luthori Emperor's Viceroy Steven P. Kennedy has since travelled to the area to attend the funerals of the victims.

To the United Nations of Terra:

This comprehensive treaty stipulates that in terms of education policy, we want the good people of this great planet to be the SMARTEST, BRIGHTEST, and most INNOVATIVE citizens in the entire Terran universe. On the planet Earth, the United States might be the greatest political democracy, but the people are the DUMBEST when compared to the Chinese and Japanese. This is so b/c Oriental nations on that planet invest heavily in Education resources as a Fundamental Right.

Therefore, this legislation revolutionarily renovates the FAILED public school system for an efficent Free-Market based approach that involves COMPETITION. It is only with competition that the price of education will fall while the QUALITY rises:

(1) Education is declared a UNIVERSAL RIGHT thereby is compulsory, but HOME SCHOOLING is permitted.

(2) We suspend the management of Pre-schools to Local Governments; The Federal Gov't shouldn't be bogged down babysitting toddlers;

(3) (a) Each Nation nationalizes all PUBLIC schools--[not private b/c we're not Soviet Communists]--under their Dept. of Education;

(b) Next, once the Federal Government has control and ownership of these Public Schools, this Treaty stipulates that all of those schools--[the land, property, resources]--will be transferred directly to all of the Public School Teachers' Union collectively so that they can have PRIVATE OWNERSHIP & CONTROL of the Land, Property, and Resources of the schools, thus managing them as their own private corporation paying corporate tax, income tax, etc. while working for a PROFIT DIVIDEND rather than a miniscule ("slave") wage;

(c) Finally, the Federal Gov't fully (100%) subsidizes the cost of private Elementary & Secondary School tuition for the citizentry;

News Report

Romain Burret, a frustrated student fed up with school work, entered the school this yesterday morning armed with a gun and began shooting students and teachers indiscriminately. After killing 15 people and wounding 38 more, Romain Burret committed suicide before being arrest by law enforcement.
