Description[?]:
Dedicated to walk in line with other Liberal Parties, the United Liberal Front (ULF) is committed to working in Parliament. These are the tenements and pillars of what it is meant to be a member in the Front: 1. Advocate big, federal governmental power and conversely, the destruction of the local municipality 2. High taxes on the wealthy, which are then given to the poor in the form of social programming or discounted goods. 3. Expansion of womens rights 4. Expansion of LGBT equality 5. The reigning in of any military organization 6. The re-formation of the current structure of government 7. Increased funding for education 8. Regulation of private enterprise (if it exists) 9. Protection of union interests 10. Increased liberation regarding sexuality and recreational drug use 11. Punishing offenders of the law, and making sure that justice is truly served. 12. Liberating individual liberties while at the same time strengthing governmental power as far as the nature an surival of a soverign nation 13. Overriding any piece of conservative legislation through repeal legislation 14. Supporting any piece of liberal legislation through active floor debate in Parliament 15. Working towards a total and permanent seperation of church and state 16. Strengthing the public sector to ensure its health and stability 17. Work hard to punish illegal immigrants 18. Use military force as a final resort 19. Crush any action by someone who is demonstrating active hostility towards the government and the Front 20. Appropriate funds for chemical, biological, and nuclear weaponry, as opposed to human force. These pillars hold up the temple of the Front, and through an enthusiastic approach to all pieces of legislation (left or right) keep the Front active in government. The Front promises to stonewall bills when it deems necessary, and will act deceptively as it sees fit. However, the leader of the Front is open to discussing with any other Leader the future of the country as it pertains to future bills. If necessary, "back-door deals" are welcomed, so long as they are upheld. Special considerations will always be granted to parties that are deemed friendly by the Front. Government is a complicated process, but with the help of the Front and other leftist groups, the Kingdom can rise to another level above all other nations. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ CABINET MEMBERS: Most Excellent and Serene Kingdom of Hutori: The Leftist Introduction, following the Conservative Shock in Parliament of 3165 STEVEN ABERNATHY, Internal Affairs (3165-3172)* RUSSELL LYNCH, Health and Social Services (3165-3172)* FRANKLIN MULLIN, Science and Technology (3165-3172)* *=The election of 3169 would have forced the government out of office, but the incoming Conservatives never made a cabinet, and then-Leader Edward O'Brien ordered the three to leave office to avoid stipulation from critics of participating in a defunct government. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Leftist Awakening Following the decisive victory in 3173, the Front took control over a majority of the Cabinet seats, and their power grew ever since. His attacks on Conservative Leaders (notably Andrew Vine) became a rallying cry for Leftists in Parliament. Following the Massacre of 3169 and the governmental walkout of 3172, O'Brien was seen as indecisive, but his work in organizing the Miracle cemented his ability to raise the Front to a level of unforeseen prominence. JOHNATHAN POPO, 3175-3200---The Shadow Most trusted friend of O'Brien, Popo worked tirelessly to navigate the first major change in the Front since its inception on the governmental stage following the Miracle of 3173, which saw O'Brien rise to become Prime Minister. Popo, in contrast to his predecessor, has spoke less in Parliament but has enacted more laws and is considered the backstage genius behind O'Brien's time as Prime Minister. Random quote: "A democracy that does not allow limits is not a democracy. Just as a limitless freedom is not freedom, but prevarication. Indeed, any theory of freedom worthy of this name is first of all a limit theory. If we extend the unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not willing to defend a tolerant society against the attacks of the intolerants, then the tolerants will be destroyed and the tolerance with them! Because, I ask to myself and ask you, given a certain system that we call democratic, which is today the best possible system to allow everyone to live freely and to be able to express their own thoughts, how can the same system admit attacks against its integrity? How can a system refuse the principle of the self-preservation? For this reason, to suppress the apologetics of thalerrism, it's for this reason that the exaltation of exegetes, principles, facts or methods of Thallerism and its anti-democratic aims does not constitute a violation of the freedom of manifestation of thought, but, on the contrary, the celebration of that freedom. The protection of the first premise on which a modern democratic system is based. And this premise must be safeguarded also and above all against itself and its abuses." ~ Malik Astori, Leadership of Liberty and Progress (Istalia) |
