This press message was released by the Government of the Free Republic of Lourenne.

Citizens of Terra,

It is with much sadness that we announce that our President, Robert DeWire Strickland (D), has died of a heart attack at the presidential residence in Valois< New Kreshar, aged 70.

He was only a month into his second presidential term.

His achievements in office were many, knowing how much social reform was needed by Lourenne. He led his party into power, bringing 125 seats for the Democrats in the Senate.

We remember him as a great leader and we miss him very much.

The hearts of all Lourennians go to his family.

A leak at a factory in Quibashi has caused thousands of litres of poisonous chemicals to be released into an important river. Environmentalists predict that the aquatic life in the river will be wiped out and it will take years to recover. The company responsible, HEA Inc., is a major member in the medicine sector of Quibashi and there are worries that a similar incident could happen in their other plants that exist throughout Indrala. The company has refused to comment on the issue.
