Announcement from the Government of the The Most Royal and Serene Kingdom of Hutori

This press message was released by the Government of the The Most Royal and Serene Kingdom of Hutori.

Now that a War Cabinet has been formed in Hutori, we deem it necessary to announce to the world our objectives.

The Hutori government maintains that secession was legal, because:
1) The Macon Union Constitution doesn't mention secession as an illegal act.
2) A legal act of secession by a sovereign entity, which the Hutori government deems Hutori to be, can't be tantamount to a declaration of war.
3) Erwin Reichenstätter, expert on international law, has stated that no clear reference was made in the Union Constitution to the exact definition of 'the national government'. We are of the opinion that the term 'national government' was a reference to the Hutori national government. The term is certainly ambiguous at best.
4) The Union of Macon, in its constitution, isn't named a 'sovereign' state. The Hutori government assumes that sovereignty was never attained by the Union and that as such Hutori has always remained a sovereign state, even after accession.
5) Sovereign states have the right to do as they please, as long as they act in accordance with international law.

Now that a state of war exists, declared on Hutori by the Union government, the Hutorian goverment has the following war objectives:

1) To protect our borders and to react against any violation of said borders by Union forces and its subsidiary forces from the member states of Davostan and Telamon.
2) To conclude peace only when our sovereignty and independence are recognised by the Union of Macon and its member states.
3) To protect the Cibonano minority in Hutori.

The Hutori national government also wishes to thank the nations that have offered political, economical and military aid to the Kingdom. For their own external security these nations aren't named in this communique.

A leak at a factory in Kirzon Valley has caused thousands of litres of poisonous chemicals to be released into an important river. Environmentalists predict that the aquatic life in the river will be wiped out and it will take years to recover.
